Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is characterised by the presence of obsessions, or repetitive and persistent, unwanted and obtrusive thoughts or urges; and/or compulsions - or repetitive behaviours or mental acts performed. Obsessions and compulsions may cause significant individual distress, as well as impairment in relationships and work performance.
